I took the week long summer dressmaking course last week & found it really interesting and fun. I learned what the different markings are on a pattern and how to measure yourself and use that against the size guide on the pattern. I feel I've gained quite a lot of knowledge including how to fit a zip. In effect, I made 2 dresses, the outer fabric & also the lining, I found this to be beneficial.

Additional course information
Teacher - Classes will be taught by me "Collette Costello", an experienced and PGCE qualified fashion teacher. I have worked in education for years teaching in establishments such as St Mary's Primary School Eccles, Burnley College, Manchester City College (MANCAT) and most recently in the textiles and fashion department at Manchester Metropolitian University. The sessions are designed to be relaxed and to help you learn a new skills. I am here to help you, happy to answer any questions and support in anyway I can in the sessions. Classes will be kept small and I guarantee you will leave with a finished garment that you can wear.
Beginners - If you have never used a sewing machine before I am very happy to work with you and begineers are welcome on all introductory level courses.
Age Limit - All ages and abilities are welcome, however it is recommended children under 14 work with an adult.
Fabric - You will be supplied with the materials you need on all courses, on the introductory course you will be offered red polka dot fabric.
Size - You will be provided on the introductory courses with a commercial dress pattern that will fit sizes 8 - 18, it will be cut to your size.
