Manchester Vintage & Retro Shops – Top Five Guide

Manchester’s selection of retro and vintage shops is fashion heaven, all are situated in the trendy Northern Quarter.  So take a wonder up Oldham Street next time you visit Manchester and pick-up a vintage classic.  The best thing is that you never know what you will find.

1) Pop Boutique - If bright retro style clothing and kitch home-wares are you idea of vintage heaven, this is the shop for you.  They have their own brand of “Pop” clothing selling alongside vintage skirts, dresses, coats………

2) Retro Rehab – Cute, girly vintage shop selling womenswear, including genuine retro dresses and jumpsuits.  Their style is classic, stylish retro for the modern women.

3) Oxfam Originals - Part of the Oxfam charity, however this is a Oxfam charity shop with a difference.  Here you can purchase vintage menswear and womenwear, great for original retro coats, dresses and shoes.

4) Afflecks Palace - Originally Afflecks Palace was one of Manchester’s most stylish department stores called Affleck and Brown.  Now it is a wonderful maze of retro and vintage markets, catering for all individual styles including Goths and Indies.  Great place to see the work of up and coming designers, Red or Dead started here.

5) Ryan’s Vintage – This really is the jumble sale of all vintage shops, its selling point is that it is cheap.  You will need to really rummage to find a bargain, however at these low prices it is worth the effort.
