Top Ten Party Dresses Guide:

The Party Season has now arrived and in this blog I have focused on the top ten key party dresses and outfits for the new season which will help you with your decision when choosing your outfit.

1) Embellishment

This trend can be worn in the form of sequins, fringing, beading and studs. This look is best worn on short to mid length dresses, wearing minimal and neutral accessories to accentuate the look. When it comes to colour choice, gold and bronze is a key element for this trend.

2) Prints and Patterns

This bold trend is not for the faint hearted, bold and graphic details were a key trend on the catwalk. Floral and leopard print have been the main contenders but these looks have been adapted to create interesting and statement looks.

3) Jewel Colours

If embellishment and prints is not for you but you still do not want to rely on basic black, then jewel colours will create an individualistic look that is bang on trend. This look suits classic and streamline shapes as the bright colour provides maximum impact. One shoulder and sweet heart necklines help emphasis the sexiness of the outfit and colours.

4) Prom frocks

The 1950’s was a key influence on the catwalk as Louis Vuitton and Marc Jacobs adapted this key look for modern day women. If this look is your style then evening prom dress will be a key look for you. Worn in black with luxury fabrics such as lace, chiffon and satin will add glamour to your evening.

5) Femme Fatal

This look is based on lingerie styled dresses using lace and feathers to create a very feminine look. The colour palette uses pink, black and ivory which emphasises the key features of the outfit. Feather detailing on skirts and dresses create impact and glamour.

6) Maxi

If short dresses are not your thing then invest in a maxi dress. The maxi has gone from boho chic to now a new reinvented seventies style focusing on the era of studio 54. Wear the look with a one shoulder or even a sweet heart neckline and a bold chunky necklace which screams glamour.

7) Rock Royalty

This look focuses on being your inner rock star for the night. This tough luxe look focuses on dark colours such as black, deep purple and gold. Brocade is an ideal fabric choice which was featured on Balmain’s catwalk show and this look can be worn dark tights for added impact. Leather is another key trend and can be worn in the form of a dress.

8) Little Black Dress

The Little Black Dress does not have to be fail safe outfit but instead can be the ultimate dramatic update to any wardrobe. Lace and luxe detailing can update the simple black dress into a show stopper. This season look for lace detailing, intricate pleating and embellishment as well as ruffles.  The LBD can be of a classic slim line shape or even a prom style ensemble.

9) Jumpsuit

If a dress is not appealing then a jumpsuit will be ideal for this season. The look can be a fitted jumpsuit with flared trousers to create a modern seventies look teamed with sky high heels. Sequins also dominated the party season and if you are daring enough a sequined jumpsuit could be a must have.

10) Chic and Simple

This look is based on the lady like chic appeal that has appeared this season on the high street. It about channelling your inner Audrey Hepburn in sleek silhouettes, keeping the shape slim and form fitting. Dress that show your shape and have a pencil skirt will be ideal, wearing the dress in a simple black or adding a bit of glamour with lace and netting inserts or even some sequin detailing.
