Summer Work Experience – Unpaid


I am looking for a young person living in Salford to give them a opportunity to gain work experince, therefore preference will be given to Salford resident applicants.

Are you aged 16 – 19 and would love to gain some work experience in a home grown Salford (Greater Manchester) fashion label “Collette Costello”?

Collette Costello is re-launching in June 2011, with a exciting new fashion label and fashion collection! This coincides with a move to our new head office and design studio. It is a great time to become involved with the company, you will learn new skills, seeing how a fashion brand is built and design studio is organised. This position is ideal for a further education college level fashion or textiles student.

Summer Work Experience?

Your role will be assisting me and my personal fashion assistant.  Your duties will be basic at first working in the design studio, designated basic tasks such as stitching labels into garments, making-up parcels, organising fabrics for cutting patterns and over-locking fabric. Alongside working in the design room you maybe asked to work at fashion shows and fashion fairs. As the company expands so will opportunities for employees.

When and Where?

You will be working at the companies head-office and design studio in Salford Quays, Manchester (see courses section for address). Initially the position will be  4 hours per work, extra hours being offered is most likely. The position is a temporary position and will start in June for 3 months. You will be asked to work your allocated hours weekdays, the studio will be open between the hours of 9.30am – 4.00pm.

What skills are we looking for?

Ability to use a sewing machine and over-locker confidently.

Evidence of interest in fashion, are you studying a fashion course?

Reliable and always on time.
