Paid Summer Personal Fashion Assistant

So you think you have what it takes to be the first personal fashion assistant ever to work for growing Salford (Greater Manchester) fashion label “Collette Costello”?
Collette Costello is re-launching in June 2011, with a exciting new fashion label and fashion collection! This coincides with a move to our new head office and design studio. It is a great time to become involved with the company, working closely with me the company director and the head of design. You will learn new skills, seeing how a fashion brand is built and design studio is organised. This position is ideal for a recent textiles related degree graduates or a student currently studying.
Summer Fashion Assistant?
I am looking for a personal fashion assistant to work with me in the design room. We will be making initial samples of designs, the styles include hand and free-hand machine embroidery. Alongside working on samples you will be assisting to market and promote the label. For example you maybe required to work at fashion shows and fashion fairs. As the company expands so will opportunities for employees.
When and Where?
You will be working at the company head-office and design studio in Salford Quays, Manchester (see courses section for address). Initially the position will be contracted to 4 hours per work, extra hours being offered is most likely. The position is a temporary position and will start in June for 3 months. You will be asked to work your allocated hours on weekdays, the studio will be open between 9.30am – 4.00pm. You will be paid hourly minimum wage.
What skills are we looking for?
The following skills are a must, if you don’t have these skills you will not be employed.
Textiles Related Degree – Studying for or completed.
(If you are aged 16 – 19 visit the work experience opportunity section).
Most Important!
Free-hand Machine Embroidery – Accurate and good control essential.
Industrial Sewing Machine – Confidence/ experience of using industrial sewing machines.
Hand-embroidery – Able to sew a range of hand embroidery stitches quickly and accurately.
Dress-making – Able to make basic skirts, dresses with the understanding of pattern markings.
Reliable and always on time.

Why should I be employed as the personal fashion assistant, what can I offer:
Sewing Skills: Send a photograph of a stitched item you have produced, note this does not have be a finished item a well made sample is fine. Explain how you made this item, I will be looking for knowledge of fabrics, stitches and machines.
Important:
You will be asked to bring samples of your work to the interview, showing your hand-stitch, free-hand machine embroidery, dress-making and general sewing skills. At the interview you will complete a task showing your sewing skills.
