Key Fashion trends Autumn/ Winter 2010/11

Each season on the fashion calendar brings new trends. The excitement of purchasing and parading the new fashion “it” item is a firm desire of many.

This season the new fashion trends reflect a new persona one where “the woman wears the trend rather than the trend wears the woman”.

1) Key Fashion Trend A/W 2010/11 – Camel Coat

This Autumn/ Winter 2010/1 fashion is all about the camel coat as seen at high-end fashion brand Chloe, now hitting the high street fashion market at full force. This “it” coat represents a new woman, more than just practical but stylish and subtle.

2) Key Fashion Trend A/W 2010/11 – Leather Skirt

Leather has made a firm stand transcending from one season to another. Last season we saw the introduction of leather shorts made famous by new comer fashion designer Alexander Wang with his American football theme. This season it’s about the leather skirt whether it is a slim line pencil skirt or the full 1950’s style “New Look” skirt, originally made famous by fashion designer Christian Dior. “Leather is the new skin of the season”.

3) Key Fashion Trend A/W 2010/11 – Grunge Glamour

Autumn/ winter fashion has seen lean towards “Grunge Glamour”, with a change towards subtle sexiness.  This can been seen in new fashion footwear fetishes, for example this boot designed by Burberry combines buckles and straps to create a grunge, bondage style fashion shoe.  Although masculine styles “Grunge” and materials “Leather” are being used this fashion season.  Keeping a feminine style this season is important, hence the rise of the “New Look” full leather skirt as featured below.

4) Key Fashion Trend A/W 2010/11 – Military

Autumn/ Winter 2010/11 has found fashion designers incorporating the military look, think boiled wool coats with brass buttons, teamed with thigh-high boots.  Thigh-high boots are a carry on from last seasons fashion must have item, they are even more desirable this season and will complete your military look. Incorporate your military look with a “Sterling” fur linned jacket or fur linned pair of boots to be bang on trend.

5) Key Fashion Trend A/W 2010/11 – Disco

If the practical and pristine look of the next fashion season is not your thing, never fear as this season has also a multitude of trends to suit each personality. The Studio 54 and the 1970’s have made a bold appearance on the catwalk, think disco with Gucci and Balmain using classic silhouettes from the decade and creating a new spin on the trends found at “Discos” of the past.
