Kate Middleton – The Royal Wedding Dress
What Will Kate Wear?
Speculation of Kate Middleton’s dress for the Royal Wedding has become a fascination for both the British public and press. The Royal wedding which will be held on Friday 29th April will summon a new trend in how royal brides will dress for the occasion.

Lady Diana Spencer married Prince Charles on the 29th July 1981, her iconic wedding dress was a master piece fit for a princess. The dress designed by Emanuel was an iconic feature made from antique lace and taffeta with a spectacular train which was which was 25 foot and embellished with over 10000 pearls. Her style and elegance remained a trend as many brides tried to emulate her iconic style and beauty. As Kate prepares for her marriage to William, the dress will be one of the most sought after styles as the public wait the unveiling of the dress and its supreme designer.
The designers for Diana was Elizabeth and David Emanuel whom began their journey into the fashion industry in 1977 with a ready to wear range which later closed as they decided to ventured into Couture. The making of Diana’s dress propelled them into the industry making them an iconic figure and feature within Diana’s wardrobe and other celebrities.
Kate’s designer is yet to be unveiled but speculation has surrounded designers such as Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen and most recently Sophie Cranston for Libelula. It is clear Kate will choose an iconic British designer but it is yet to determine which designer will encapsulate her style. Both British designers have iconic styles which reflect a creative and unusual edge that will allow Kate to stand out on the day but still reflect her contemporary classic style that she is known for.
The dress I believe will move away from the traditional styles of Diana’s dress, Kate may opt for a streamline dress in the sense that it is fitted to her figure and may only feature volume towards the bottom of the dress. She may opt for a sleek fish tail dress which will feature minimal decorative details and show off her slender physique with an off the shoulder feature. Her accessories will be kept minimal to allow the dress to stand out and do all the talking.
On the day of this iconic wedding, I will be celebrating the day by waiting to see the dress and who the designer will be. It will be an iconic day for British fashion and I will look forward to watching the Royal wedding.
