About Me – Fiona Stewart – Guest Blogger
I’m a Student:
Hello there, I’m Fiona. I’m a student, aren’t they all? And just like the rest I hope to one day get a proper job and pay some taxes by working in the media. Hmm. Until then I spend most of my time wasting money and procrastinating, as well as the odd bit of reading and painting. I have a fascination with antiques, abandoned buildings, violins and Stephen Fry. I went to Prague recently, took a picture of the most beautiful alleyway down some side street and on the last evening lost all my photographs. I cried – mainly for the alleyway.
A Few of My Favourite Things:
Favourite singer, Damien Rice, or The Beatles, I’m partial to the odd bit of indecisiveness. I’m not a regular TV viewer and I like to watch French romance movies. I have a nice little book collection going, mainly consisting of leather bound bargains I’ll never actually read and a lot of George Orwell. As much as it pains me to admit I’m pretty regular, average…cliché. Oh well. I hail from Manchester, but I am currently studying Journalism & Creative writing in Preston, I very much miss the little shops you always walk past and are intrigued as to what’s inside, and you tell yourself you must have a look at some point. Well, there aren’t many of them in Preston. Sad face.
Me and Fashion:
My own personal look for this winter: green military coat, red beret and a satchel that looks good, but has no utility whatsoever and smells a bit funky.
My favourite designer may have to be Christian Lacroix, a guilty pastime is googling his wedding dresses. (!) They’re just pretty, OK? However, his website is a little beauty if you have a spare minute or two to explore. Until I find myself a proper job and can afford to play the lottery I much prefer finding charity shop wonders, and making Primark my own with an abundant collection of buttons, ribbon and beads. I read the Guardian and I don’t have Facebook, I drive a Micra with only one door handle and I like my lager with a slice of lime.
