Christmas Craft Events Salford & Beesley Green

Please find attached details of a forthcoming Craft fair opportunity at Beesley Green Community Centre on Sunday 4th December. We have agreed to send out the details of this  fair to our ‘Craft’ email list in case it may be of interest.  If you are interested in having a stall at this event, please contact Angela Monks on 0161 778 0380. (Please do not contact the museum as we are not organising this event).

The Ordsall Ball (of wool)

Ordsall Hall, Sunday 27 November 2011,

12.00pm to 4.00pm.
Free of charge.

Join us for an afternoon celebrating all things woolly!

Activities include:

  • Browse and buy at our special ‘wool and yarn’ craft fair where a wide range of yarn goods made by crafters from all over the north west will be for sale – from knitted bowls to crochet toys and much more besides
  • Stock up on yarn supplies – from knitting needles to yarn to patterns will be for sale – everything that you will need to get you creating wonderful objects from wool!
  • Meet ‘Knitting Nana’ for a knit and natter and have fun learning how to make a pom-pom
  • Watch Lucy the Tudor demonstrate Tudor techniques used in spinning and weaving
  • Find out about natural dyes and button making
  • Watch how lace is made
  • Take part in a knitting, crochet or felt making taster session
  • Help with our yarn bomb of Ordsall Hall by knitting a piece of bunting or decorating a piece of felt bunting to add to our bunting decorations

A Musical Christmas at Salford Museum and Art Gallery

Salford Museum and Art Gallery will be welcoming back Monton Voice for our musical Christmas event on Sunday 4th of December.

Listen to the choir in the splendour of the Victorian Gallery as they treat you to festive songs.

Help to make Christmas decorations to hang on our museum tree and take one home for yourself

Visit Lark Hill Place, our Victorian Street, to see it decorated for Christmas and meet Mrs Brown to learn all about how the Victorians celebrated.

Treat yourself to mince pies and cake in our café
